New Pirouette® Window Shadings from Hunter Douglas: A Graceful Spin on a Classic Fabric Shade

Pirouette window shadings feature soft adjustable horizontal fabric vanes attached to a single sheer backing to control light in an entirely new way. With the gentle pull of the operating cord, textured fabric in a palette of delightful colors transforms from what appears to be cascading folds to contoured vanes, allowing an enhanced outside view through the sheer backing.

When opened, the top and bottom of each Pirouette vane shifts closer together in the back, creating a soft outward fold and allowing the light to filter gently through the fabric sheer and offering a softened view of the outside. When closed, the vanes slide into a flattened position for excellent light blockage and a smooth look similar to that of a classic Roman shade. Vanes can also be partially raised for a gently contoured look that still maintains privacy, or adjusted to different levels between open and closed positions for variable light control.. Pirouette window shadings are available in two opacities – semi-opaque and room darkening.

The Invisi-Lift™ system is at the heart of Pirouette shadings, allowing the horizontal fabric vanes to float elegantly and providing unobstructed views or complete privacy all in one. Available in two vane sizes -4” Petite and 5” Grande – for windows up to 10-feet wide by 10-feet high, Pirouette window shadings are ideal for homeowners who have beautiful views or who just want to harness the power of natural light in their homes. Three beautifully textured fabric styles – Crepe, Linen and Satin – are offered in a variety of fashion forward colors – such as Sandalwood, Lichen, Terracotta and Aquamarine – for a total of 44 fabric/color combinations. All fabrics in both vane sizes come in semi-opaque and room darkening opacities. This versatile product beautifully compliments virtually any decorating style, from casual setting to more formal designs.

Pirouette window shadings boast high efficiency ratings while also offering superior protection against the sun’s harmful UV rays, which will eventually fade floors, furniture, upholstery and treasured artwork. While still allowing for a softened outside view and gentle light filtration, the sheer backing reduces glare and blocks up to 86 percent of the damaging UV rays when the vanes are open. When the vanes are closed, the product offers 99 percent protection against UV rays.
